How much freezer space do you need to buy in bulk?
Let's talk about freezer space and how much of it you'll need to fit in a purchase of bulk beef or pork.
If you are going to purchase meat in bulk, it is imperative that you have enough freezer space! You don't want to be surprised with more meat than you can reasonable store. Nor do you want to buy a freezer that's just way to big.
I made a couple of charts to help show you how much will fit in your freezer.
Bulk Beef Freezer Requirements
You'll need about 1 cubic foot of freezer space for every 20-25 pounds of beef. This chart was made for the larger quantities that come with Angus beef. Space requirements will be slightly less for Devon beef as they are smaller cattle.
Bulk Pork Freezer Requirements
For Bulk Pork you'll need about 1 cubic foot of space for every 15-20 pounds of pork.
