Freezer Requirements for Bulk Beef and Pork

May 4, 2022

Let's talk about freezer space and how much of it you'll need to fit in a purchase of bulk beef or pork.

If you are going to purchase meat in bulk, it is imperative that you have enough freezer space! You don't want to be surprised with more meat than you can reasonable store. Nor do you want to buy a freezer that's just way to big for your purchase.

I've summarized the amount of freezer space you'll need for the quantity of meat you plan to purchase in the charts below:

Bulk Beef Freezer Requirements

You'll need about 1 cubic foot of freezer space for every 20-25 pounds of beef.

Bulk Pork Freezer Requirements

For Bulk Pork you'll need about 1 cubic foot of space for every 15-20 pounds of pork.
